Well Field Pre-Fabricated Branch Connections

The Geowell layout is based on a grid of wells (see Well Field Design) that are served by laterals and mains. The lateral pipe has been designed and pre-fabricated in 35’ PVC or HDPE sections (well designated spacing) for shipment and assembly at the site. The intent is to minimize field installation costs and eliminates errors.

Each section is complete and ready for connection to the adjoining section and wellhead. The Geowell layout employs hydraulic laterals that telescope-up toward the supply header and telescope-down moving away from the return header. This telescoping design insures constant velocity and even distribution of water from and to each well served by the lateral. Tests have shown the ability of this design to balance the flow and maintain a constant static level at each well.

The entry of water returning from the building to select “active” rows is controlled by a 2”-3” solenoid valve which comes as part of the header assembly. This valve is located just below grade in the field at the entry of each return row and is contained in an environmental NEMA enclosure for servicing. The enclosure is designed to maintain temperatures above freezing during the winter. The valves receive signals from the well field controller for their operation.
